Tuesday Tidbits-
Tuesday Crew has been busy. The raffle tractor looks great. Thanks Pat McMahon for the great paint job. The mowers and club tractors are nearly ready for the season. Progress has been made on the steam shed, sorghum shed, bleachers, and the sawmill is working properly, again. Mitch and Vahe have been doing the dirty job of cleaning up the Minneapolis steam engine so it is ready to be repaired. Club Meetings Welcome Doug Melton, our new board member as of January 1st. Let’s not forget to thank outgoing board member, Terry Brown, for his many years of faithful service on the board. He continues to be a valued member. January’s meeting saw a discussion regarding better organization for work days. We’ve started keeping maintenance logs on the club’s tractors and equipment and taking other measures to strengthen scheduling of our various projects. We have started having a 1 work day each month on a Saturday. It is normally the Saturday after the monthly meeting. This month, it was on the 7th and there will also be a work day on March 7th. President Jim Brassfield announced at the January meeting that several members met and updated the rules we will be using at our pulls. The rules are posted on our Website, FaceBook page, and available at the show.
Raffle Ticket Sales Events-
Josh Friend stepped up and is the new go to guy for keeping track of the raffle tractor and ticket sales events. Contact Josh if you can help at any events or haul the tractor. Text or call Josh at 417-259-2520 or email rtr4020@gmail.com. These dates are what I expect based on last year’s dates.

Our Purpose
According to our bylaws, the purpose of our club is, “To promote the collection, restoration, preservation and exhibition of the equipment and tools of our historical past. To promote the interest education, and involvement of all ages in our heritage.” It’s easy to look around the club house and grounds and see all the equipment and tools we are preserving and exhibiting, but those are perhaps the least important things that deserve preservation. Our ancestors didn’t thrive solely on the ingenuity of inventors and the development of new technologies as much as they did on a spirit of cooperation and community, and that is the “heritage” we need to preserve. if at I love how our pullers come together to share in the work of putting on the tractor pulls. Most of our pullers take turns sharing in the work load of manning the scales, flagging, working the sleds and pull back tractors, lining up the pullers, and maintaining the track. That allows each one to still have time to pull their tractors. Without that willingnesss to pitch in where and when they’re needed, we’d be hard pressed to be able to have the pulls. Our club couldn’t succeed without our members pitching in on many of the other tasks that are necessary to run our shows, maintain our grounds, and fund our club. Many opportunities will arise this year to help. We have ads to pick up for our program book, raffle tickets to sell, Tuesday crew projects, Saturday crew projects, and lots of places to serve during our shows. When you volunteer to help out, you are demonstrating that sense of service and community that we’re trying to preserve and pass on to the next generation. It’s one of the things that makes our club worthwhile. Membership
Our memberships run from April through March. That means you should try to pay your membership at the March meeting. There is a handy form with each newsletter thats emailed out to members to make it easy to mail in your membership. If you can’t make the March meeting, it would make things easier on our Treasurer to send it in the mail.
